Done 3 coats of primer filler 80, 120, 240 grit

Now for the white primer today.....

I'll sand this with 400 grit tomorrow.
Then another coat and 600 grit ready for painting on another weekend

As far as I know yes, they use it as its slower drying and bites into the paint a bit depending on how they thin it.

You've come a long way in just a short time - it's "paint season" again now.... just pick the best days (low humidity - moderate temp) - that's my philosophy......

If you've shot acrylic - I'd give it a bit of "air" to let it pull down before blocking back..... or you may have to re-do (block again in a week or so) it if solvents haven't all evaporated.... this depends a bit on how much "build" has been applied......

Pin-striping enamel..... - can't help with this - don't know anything about them..... but I'm leaning towards what Brett has stated - the enamel may have some solvent in it which "bonds or etches" into acrylic...... a "test" piece will probably save your finish paint.....

I'm pretty much convinced, normal enamel will not affect acrylic - haven't seen it yet..... but acrylic will certainly "bubble' or "blister" enamel......

For those six months - you did the right thing...... there is no point in trying to spray down here when humidity is high and temps are low..... often it's better to leave the old coat on and do other projects, rather than to strip and leave bare steel exposed in winter........

Good work, don't forget to "step back" and enjoy it every now and again...... the end result will come - don't forget to enjoy the journey to it......

You won't regret it - make sure it gets good air flow over it.... just leaving it in a closed up shed won't do as good as having doors and windows open on a warm, windy day...... I'd probably go against getting any hot sun on it though...... if you can avoid it...

You'll know it's done most of it's stuff when you can't "smell" the thinners when you take a "sniff" up against it...... they'll continue to come out for a long time - but for blocking back..... a week of good weather with plenty of "air" will do most of it..... two if you are anything like me.....

I like to leave top-coats for yonks before compounding - final top coats - not the ones you are going to block down "between" coats.....

I still haven't compounded that luggage compartment of mine yet..... it's only had eighteen months or so..... should be well on the way, by now......? Black's a bugger of a colour (no arguments about it being a "colour" please)..... it relies purely on reflection - and any imperfection can be seen easily in it.......

The body is now a rub-down off painting, so I'll get stuck into the doors, bonnet and guards with the primer and spray them with the body.

really coming along nicely, is it just my screen colours or does the yellow have a slight green tinge to it? looks

either way, not long now and you'll be able to let the tips of your fingers grow back

The color does look a bit different on the computer Matches.
It's more of a pastel yellow
