looks sweet. Bebop I see you are putting in a heater, did you crack the heater bung in the head while the motor was out?

Hi Sunnytim, there isnt one? this is an FC block and the head castings dont have one at the front, so both heater hoses are going to the waterpump/ thermostat housing.

Well at the the request of a few fellow forum members ive pulled my finger out to make time to post more pix and updates on the resto project of my EK

Got the dash all back together in this photo, hidden wiring was placed behind up and under the dash and wrapped in split condju



Interior was re-upholstered using metallic green vinyl which was sourced from the states by my motor trimmer, the door trims have had the bottoms re done and the weld lines replicated to as near to the original factory lines, patterned inserts have been colour matched to original colours



Got the steering wheel back on and the interior is near complete



Engine dressed up a little, will be polishing the rocket cover at a later date


Got the front sheet metal on and prepped for final assembly





The bonnet bar holden insert was painted with a transluscent candy red paint, then painted in silver engine enamel to replicate the original colour



Almost finished, stll need to fit scuff plates, seat side covers and rear parcel tray.

Got to bright with no probs, my mate also took up his fc for its debut run as well


Well thats about it for now, still got a few things to do on the build but for now im just enjoying cruising and taking my time to finish off the little things

Nice work bebop! Can't think of a better way to test alls well than with a roadtrip. Ek looks great.

Hi J, ye i agree about lowering it a bit more, it would look better, however i kind of like the comfortable ride at the moment, rather than having no suspension and relying on bump stops for absorbtion.
Maybe down the track when i get bored.
