Thanks Mate,
Great advice.
Yep, the plugs and dizzy are removed now. The pic was a step previous. Taking photos along the process so I can put it all back together again.
Was hoping not to have to undo the fuel pump to get in there, but that might have to go too.
The breather is a bit tight, should ...

Sideplate
Hi All,
Having trouble getting my sideplate off on the drivers side to have a look at the welch plugs.
All screws and bolts are out. plugs out.
Seems to be some heavy duty sealant in there with the gasket.
Any tips on removing the Sideplate?
Cheers

Re: Oil problem not head gasket blown?
Thanks a lot fellas,
Great advice all round.
I was hoping it was just the head gasket or even cracked head,
but those welsh plugs look like a royal headache to get to too.
At the very least I reckon the gasket is done, Will do pressure test.
And probably a good time to do an overhaul, clean out ...

Oil problem not head gasket blown?
Hi All,
Just asking for some general advice here. Long story, but I am trying to do some diagnostics.
My ute has been off the road for a year. It was mechanically fixed up to drive 12 months ago. After being in storage for a few years. The basics to get it moving Carby kit, brakes, clutch, plugs ...

Well, ahem... It did actually work out ok to be correct size. Just needed a little soak in some fuel to expand.

Fuel Pump Gaskit size - Was the Goss Original issue
Before i got nuts at the peeps at 'About time spares' for giving me the wrong size fuel gaskit for my EK ute. Just want to know if my Fuel pump is the original issue. Its a GOSS make that seems to be the standard in all the old grey engines.

Braided fuel hose to replace
Hi all,
Not sure yet but, It may be that I need to replace the braided fuel hose that leads to the pump.
Fuel is not getting into the glass bowl and I am thinking the fuel line is the problem. Going to start by looking at the braided hose. It may be faulty.
I understand that this is an important ...

Re: Battery Tray size's
I think you're right! ...Reckon I'll have to modify it back to original again...
I've had my ute since '98 and always thought it was a massive battery space. Just thought that's the way batteries were back in ' 62.
Cheers

Battery Tray size's
Hey All,
Old battery tray has bit the dust, rusted out completely after its many years of service. Got a new tray from Sam Crumpi. Very nice.
Pulled the old one out and placed the new in its place and noticed a its a little short in length. Now, I am trusting Sam has done his job cause he's been ...

EK Horn - Sequence of parts
Hi all,
I am having trouble with the horn assembly on my EK. Got a New contact ring (original) and Brush ( rare spares) and the manuals sequence of order placement. I have all the parts but no success making it feel right. No springy-ness to it like it should.

Splice or not to splice Horn wire EK
Hi All,
Got a new brass horn ring to fit to my EK, it came with an original wire in great condition.
My dilemma is whether to cut and connect the wire by spicing new onto old and guaranteeing a working horn, or chasing the wire through the steering stem and connecting ( which I'm not so skilled on ...
