Battery Tray size's

Post by Gossy »

Hey All,
Old battery tray has bit the dust, rusted out completely after its many years of service. Got a new tray from Sam Crumpi. Very nice.
Pulled the old one out and placed the new in its place and noticed a its a little short in length. Now, I am trusting Sam has done his job cause he's been making them for years.
I can get the back bolts in-place ok, but think I need to A) re-position the front bracket which seems welded or B) use a couple of longer bolts for the two front bolt positions, but now I am thinking about it, I am not sure that'll work as may not hold the weight.

Has anyone come across this before? - see pics, a variation on battery tray lengths?

I am guessing the utes might of had an extra large battery back in the day because it looks like the tray in mine old one had an extension bit to it as it had two obvious sections.
Is a customisation to my ute or is it an EK/ FB variation?
any ideas?

Looks like someone has modified your battery tray at some stage ???
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I think you're right! ...Reckon I'll have to modify it back to original again...

I've had my ute since '98 and always thought it was a massive battery space. Just thought that's the way batteries were back in ' 62.

Cheers
