Yes. As I understand it, the letter indicates the month (A = January, B = February etc., so K = November). The first two digits indicates the day number in that month, and the third digit is the last digit of the year. So K150 is 15th November, 1960. There's also a foundry stamp on the head. It's on ...

Hi all,

At what point did GMH change from having "GMH" stamped on the keys to "GM"? Here are the keys we got with our FB ute when we bought her in 1973. I'm guessing the ignition key is original and that the door lock was changed at some point. I'm just curious to know approximately when that ...

Hi Finny,

I used www.google.com.au and did a text-based search for "fb2106 +holden -fbekholden.com". There was one reference (sorry, not two like I said previously) to a ute with a body ID of FB2106-2668-M at "shopholden.com" which, in turn, pointed to an eBay auction in May this year. See here ...

I googled "FB2106" and "EK2106" and found two FBs with "M" in the body (not chassis) number. The rest were Sydney-assembled. So that makes it at least 15 combinations, without adding in the FBs that have EK ids. :-(

If it helps at all, the chassis, body and engine in our ute are all original (we ...

Hi Finny,

I hunted around and found some info that may help.

Re the body number on the ID Plate : A post on the FE/FC forum that says that this was sequential and was unique for each body style for each plant . I also re-read a reply Dr Terry kindly gave to some similar questions that I'd asked ...

Hi Finny,

Here's another FB ute to add to the list:

http://users.bigpond.net.au/otl/vin_tag2.jpg

Body FB2106-7959-S
Trim 528-832 ("Mephisto Red" trim)
Paint 585-9892 ("Seagull Grey")

Our ute has its original engine, so I thought I'd add the engine and vehicle serial numbers:

Engine # B125151 ...

LOL! I'll run with the Mad Max explanation ... it's far more glamourous than the other, though the other is probably closer to the truth!

Thanks Tim. No, there's nothing unusual on the ID plate. It's been driving me up the wall, so I decided to hit google big time and found some useful things.

Here's the origin of "ARMOURFLOAT". From Don Loffler's "Still Holden Together":

"In addition to manufacturing window glass for Holdens on ...

Thanks very much. Out of interest, do you know when "ARMOURFLOAT" and "ARMOURGLAS" first started to be produced? Was it in the 1960s or later? I'm just wondering when the windscreen and quarter vent windows were replaced in our ute.

Cheers & thanks .... jacquie

Hi SunnyTim,

Any ideas what it means when there's a dot above the "T" in "Armourplate"? Or am I looking at entirely the wrong thing? :-) The left and rear windows of our ute both have marks above the "T". The stamp on the rear window is crystal clear (relatively speaking). I checked with an 8X ...

Windscreen washer nozzle/hose setup - FB

Hi all,

We're about to fit a foot-operated windscreen washer to our FB ute. Could anyone pls share photos of how to fit them? We're particularly interested in how the nozzles connect to the bottle, how the nozzle hoses join and how to run the hoses from the nozzles to the bottle.

We're adapting ...

Thanks, SunnyTim. From the sounds of it, this is a vacuum-operated wiper washer setup. Do you know if it will work with a foot-operated setup?

Cheers & thanks again .... jacquie

Hi all,

Could anyone pls tell me what this thing is that's mounted into the lid of the windscreen washer bottle? Is off an FB/EK?

I'm not sure about the EK, but if it helps at all, it's headlining vinyl on an FB.
