59 Caddy Tailights - Indicators

Post by NoMAD »

I'm sure it's been done but my young age hasn't witnessed it....

anyone use 59 caddy Lights as Front Indicators...plan is to use these

i'm assuming it's as simple as drilling out the FB housing base to take it, and simply putting a similar type gasket in between, but just thought i would ask the hand of seasoned vet's as i haven't bought them yet!

Cheers

NoMaD, Personally I don't like em. They are too long for the front. See if you can shave 1 inch or 2 off them to get the right proportions. I'd just bolt the whole housing to the indicator with a rubber gasket and run the wiring through the hole in the indicator fitting! Good luck

I cut mine down on the '64 - cut 'em with a grinder then sanded the cut smooth with a piece of sandpaper on a sheet of timber - did the same to the base of the old lens and glued 'em together with Loctite 604. Been on there for 12 months and 9000 miles , havent fallen off yet..........
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
