Roof Painting best process

Let me know if this has already been answered somewhere else.

When painting the roof on a wagon, what is the best process / pattern, to follow with the gun ?

I haven't painted a wagon before. :shock:
On a Sedan, I would start at the front edge and paint towards the rear, then return back using an overlap each time.
When I get to the middle line of the roof, I move to the other side and continue painting from the middle line back towards myself.
Finally finishing at the opposite front edge.

However on a wagon I don't seem to be able to get a run all the way from the front to the back of the car.
Especially as you get closer to the middle line.
Going from side to side would probably be even more difficult. :evil:

Just wondering what others have found to be the best process to use ? :? :?

This is what I meant previously.
Although I don't think I can get a continuous run all the way along the entire length of the car.

THEN MOVE TO THE OTHER SIDE, and continue.

Any better ways.
Doing it in quarters would mean the paint would be dry by the time you got to the 3rd quarter.

Hey Finny :)
thats how i painted my wagon roof from front to
back back to front then ran around the other side
if you do the middle runs abit wetter it wont dry by
the time you run around the otherside so you avoid
a dry line
a good trick also if you can take the wheels of the car
and put it on low blocks so you can reach the middle
better

Hadn't considered taking the wheels off, but that would really help.

So many nice colours, its hard to pick only one.
Found this one, and really like the contrast. 8) 8) 8)

for height i jus grab mums 3 seater outside chairs :lol: and put 6 metre beares on top so i can jus run up and down with out height issues 8)
always a good day for cars

Do as long a stroke as possible, start on the outside of one side, work into the middle, then go round the other side of the car, start in the middle and work backwards. Lean on the drip rail or doors for balance

Painting COB? 2 pack?
