accelerator done..BUT....

Post by chrome_ek_girl »

Ok....dammit...one problem then presents another..

I have completed changing from linkages to L300 mitusbishi cable for my accelerator....BUT...

i take it for a drive..and its breaking down at higher revs..say around the 40 grand mark....breaking down hugely.

Not sure why

BUT.....i have never had full throttle in the car for 9 years...so....maybe its just the "shit" comin out thats been built up for years..yeah? Any suggestions.

 40 grand mark

Sheet, I'd be happy with 40 000 rpm

Yeah, I know what you mean't, it was a typo    .

Seriously now,

Did you tip the carby upside down or on an angle when you first took it from the manifold?

Reason for asking is that if carby's are tipped over, some of the crap that has laid in the one spot inside the carby for however many years can move or dislodge and can make its way into fuel transfer passages and jets in the carby and block or partly block them up causing all sorts of problems from no idle through to high end fuel delivery problems.

Just one possible cause of many possible causes.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Have you got a good engine block to body earth?
Might pay to check and clean it up, you might have been earthing through the linkages
