G'day Westy,

Havnt done it myself but it can be done. Contact Dellow Automotive Pty Ltd Motor Car Accessories 37 Daisy St Revesby 2212 (02) 9774 4419.

also check out http://www.dellowauto.com.au/main.html and look up the product catalogue list - it lists the grey motor.

Have added this contact to the Suppliers and Services list.

Castlemain Rod Shop in Victoria may also do a Grey to Celica or Supra 5 speed.Their contact no would probably be locatable online via Yellow Pages.

You would have to fit a larger aftermarket transmission tunnel or an EK Hydramatic tunnel to enable to 5 speed to fit under the floor.

The Datsun/Nissan 5 speeds yeprat1 mentioned were a popular conversion in the '80's and would handle the high power output that a grey puts out  so if you could find a complete conversion for one of these boxes to fit a grey then if its reasonably priced I'd think about one of these. From memory they were a good gearbox and there would still be some around. They did have different length output shafts/housings depending on what model Datsun/Nissan they came from.If you are still using a bench seat you may also have to recess the front seat or modify the gearshift to clear the seat, again this will depend on the output housing length.....shorter is better.

Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

They would probably thank you if you did! It can't add to the rental or sale value. LOL

Can you call on the real estate and pin them to the wall?

finally they got back to me, aparently a family member has his eye on it but is just going to let it sit there till the house sells :? must be a deceast estate cause seen photos of the inside of the house and i wouldn't let an animal live in it, actually think the van would be worth more than the house

hey guys, strangest thing happend today! i got to work and there was a letter from dellow! i only posted my question on here and hadnt had a chance to call them
how they knew has got me
let alone how they got my work address

but anyway, heres what it says i/you would need.

-bellhousing with side mounts(needed for grey) $325+gst
-pilot bush $25+gst
-steel clutch fork and clip $95+gst
-thrust race and carrier $85+gst
-speedo cable $85+gst
-tailshaft yoke $125+gst
-clutch plate $95+gst

*note-because the car is a auto you also need:-

-master cylinder $100+gst
-slave cylinder $65+gst
-slave cylinder mounting brackets $65+gst
-hydrolic lines and nipples $60+gst
-pedal pushrod $25+gst
-slave to fork push rod $25+gst

i allready have a box and conversion for a red 6 so i prob wont need all this stuff  but it doesnt leave you with much change out of $1300
then would still need a tail shaft

hmmm might have to think about this one :?
