As I have done the other side I thought this would be easier - Wrong. Same method, shop press to create the rib then fold the bend, fix the rib, fix the fold, repeat, fold the angles each side of the rib, then fold a few more angles and try and get everything to line up. Rib is too high and doesn't join the existing metal, so flatten out most of the rib and refold, this wreaks most of the folds and the subtle curve I had added to get it to mate to the vertical K. Fix most of that, then ran out of patience and daylight.
So not a great outcome but getting there.
Interested to see how you would go with the bead roller. A lot of the fold lines fade in and increase in angle as they go along. I guess you could roll them in and then flatten them back out as required.

Yeh that sounds exhausting! I’m hot rodding mine a bit so maybe some custom fabbed and bead rolled pieces may be the easier option? Could even sheet straight over it.

Looking very sharp! Have you poked around those hinge mount supports? Wilma's had a little mine of iron oxide behind them😒.
Looking forward to following this build through.
Others may a have different view, but I reckon the the 2 guard aprons are the critical pieces of K frames. The legs etc. are more easily repaired but if you've got a K frame with rusty or damaged aprons it's a world of pain. I've got one coming up too. But have a fair few cuts to use.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I have been right over this firewall and it’s taken a lot of work and I’m more than certain it’s fine now.

Others may have another opinion but I have built it for myself not for anyone else and although they will give their opinion and sometimes criticism, no hard feelings will be felt as I would have done every inch of this car myself. I have posted this build to maybe show other people with similar ideas how I did it.

As for the k frame and side walls, the frame is great but just some decent holes cut in it but will see how good I am when I attempt to repair them hahahaha. May be some new custom panels in there if the repairs go bad.

It would be a boring old world if we all liked the exact same thing mate
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hi Dave, you sound like you have all your ideas sorted and well underway. You won't get any criticism for your ideas here. Occasionally someone will make a suggestion for another option or give a minor prod if they see something they can help with or that will/may cause a problem.
In my build there have been a few times where I made a mistake in the way I had a part assembled and if someone hadn't pointed it out I wouldn't have ever known. All suggestions made to me have been gentle and respectful, and I value them very highly. Sometimes I have chosen not to make a suggested change but there is never a problem with that.
Sometimes I see stuff that the 'gurus' do that I reckon is not ideal too. As you say- it's their choice. Everyone is here to help- just as you are now helping others by posting your build. It's a great forum with many useful ideas and you are now a productive part of it!
And best of all you are a modifier- and this is where the best innovations and engineering skills reside on the forum. 🙂

Haha yeh look I do take all things on board and I do love older car resto but love a resto-mod more.

It is one of the best forums I have been on I will say that!

On the other hand I just found a significant amount of rust on lower rear quarter🤦‍♂️
