Control arm bushes

Post by Malcolm »

Tom,

I got a full rebuild kit on EBAY for a HR front end for about $340. Worked out a lot cheaper than buying the parts separately. The same person also sells the parts seperately for a reasonable price also. Sorry I can't think of his name but he's always on ebay selling front end parts under the HD/HR heading.
The big nuts that screw onto the pins that go through the cross member should be firm. If there sloppy than thats a pretty good sign that there stuffed.

Cheers

i bought a kit off ebay with everything exept the bushes (cheap)
the bushes were tight and there was no slop in the control arms but i figgured that while the front end was out (and that it's my wifes car) i should recon it.
i'll check out ebay and see if i can find that guy.
cheers for the advice

Tom
Rare spares would probably have the bushes in stock

Apparently Supercheap have them too - this was discussed on here a couple of years ago and someone said Supercheap - the price was pretty good too from memory.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
