try and get some of the old asbestos stuff,
that is the go, and you can find rolls of new asbectos tape in old guys sheds
come garage sale time.
the new stuff just doesnt seem to cut it.
we use this on the offroad VWs and they are always wet.
never seen and exhaust rust under one of these.

the 173 is like the 202 as in both have un-adjustable tappets, they have the alloy bridge holding the rockers,
all other red motors have the adjustable tappets.

i think maybe a repco or simular company offered finned drums off the shelf in the 60s and 70s, they made them for falcons and valiants

hi all,
just about to fit the red six in the ek.
now i have a question,
if im using a HR front end, with the HR steering, then wouldnt i be able to use a HR sump.
do i really need the EH sump.
what about the early toranas with the pickup at the rear of the motor.
what else can i use.

hi guys, whats the chances of finding a reasonable subframe.
took mine off the ute the other night, and when the rusty dusty cloud had settled, it appears to have a lot wrong with it.
the 'y' frames are real good, under the battery is not too bad,
but the drivers side upright bit that goes back to ...

nice wagon, what a great find.

the gaurd bits are off xm xp type falcons, and were mosr at home on the futuras.

i pulled the seat out tonight, the floor is 100% super solid and tarred up.

who ever did this beast up in the 80s did a great job at it.

my plans are simple:

hq discs on Hr front, 202, trimatic, Hr 3.36 diff. floor shift.
only as these are the parts i have here and ...

thought as much, then it never stops, i know ill find a bit of rust under the screen, and then if the screens out i should do the hood lining and then... and then... and then full resto time.

i think they look crap on this, im not sure if i can re-graft the originals back on, was thinkin ek sedan or wagon lights would look great as i got a sedan and a wagon as part of the ute deal, but even that ...
