FX or 50-2106 utes have the external handle.
FJ utes don't have it. They swapped to the internal handle when the FJs came out in 1953.

Upside-down chassis number.....I assume that you mean that you read it by looking over the drivers side guard ?

I was going to say Incorrect Ignition(Distributor) Timing causing the engine to overheat etc. but I'm confused about the timing of the events.
When it overheated on the freeway was this before or after the new dizzy was fitted ?

The blocks on my one may have had the allen keys. A long time ago and I don't remember.
I do remember that I had to give Waggot my Main bearing caps and they machined the tops of the caps to accept the blocks.

The main bearing blocks were a common mod many years ago. Don't know if people still do it ?
I had the same blocks on a grey in the mid 70s that was done in Sydney by Waggott Engineering. Can't remember if they had those allen key bolts in them though ?
Impossible to tell what cam it is from photos ...

As I pointed out I only saw it late at night under moonlight. Could see that it was a recent paint job. Looked like it had a few buff marks so i'm guessing acrylic ...

Spent a couple of days at Moonee Beach Caravan Park (North of Coffs) recently.

If the 36' 5 window the one you're thinking of Mick..then I could date it back to when it was Yellow and owned by a mate of 'Ken'..never found out what happened to it..hav'nt seen Ken in 20 odd years! :oops:
