Hi guys,
Probably a slightly daft question but I'm new to this game. Changing oil filters - I've read in some cases you want to fill your new oil filter with fresh oil - is this the case with the disposable filters used on red engines (mines a 173 torana engine)?
Cheers,
James

Re: oil filters
Its good practice to always fill a new filter with oil prior to fitment but since the red's filter is horizontal you either only 1/4 - 1/2 fill it or expecto make a mess and lose a bit of oil in the process.JimmyJazz wrote:Hi guys,

If you have a running car then you really won't need to fill the oil filter up with oil as it will have enough oil in the pump to self prime.Should only take about 5 seconds or so after start up to pump up pressure with a new dry filter.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
