Gen/Alternator light staying on

My generator dash light stays lit when the ignition is turned to OFF.
I changed from generator to alternator yesterday, there is a wire running from the B+ terminal on the alt to battery + , the usual S to B+ on alternator, and the brown exciter field wire going to the dash.
just can't figure out why the dash light would stay on?

Just an iffy connection on the S terminal for anyone who might have a similar problem sometime
