hidden rewire with alternator

Post by EKjimmy »

going to be changing from the 30A generator to an 85A commodore alternator very soon, just wondering if wire guages need to be upsized to cope with extra power?
to give everyone an idea of what electrical stuff will be in the car:
pioneer cd player
rockford fosgate p4004 4 channel amplifier
sub and 4 speakers running off amp (dont worry guys i plan on doing a very well hidden stereo system, it'd look stupid with speakers in the parcel shelf etc.)
all other normal wiring-headlights, taillights etc obviously
and in the near future:
power windows
central locking
alarm
courtesy lights under doors
temperature guage
dash lights will probably be changed to LED's so i can actually SEE at night lol.

so considering all the above, should any or all of the wiring in the car be changed to thicker guage than the original wiring?

thanks fellas, jimmy
