yes you need an engineers report.
it is changing brakes and you will need to change engine mount location so all that has to be checked.

WRONG DEFINATELY WRONG depending on who you go to for rego that is   BUT legally YOU ARE suposed to get an engineers report for the HR conversion as matches said it's to do with a brake upgrade more than the actual front end fitment
there's a couple in the newcastle area if you do a search on the RTA website there's a list of engineers, right now i can't think of his name but the guy i've used is up that way he's easy to deal with and reasonably priced, at a guess you'll pay atleast $300 up for the report

 I'd say the bloke you are talking about is Athol Mullin there Rat.

There's one engineer in Newy that I reckon does his appraisals from a nursing home in between fits of insanity ( I'm not refering to Athol with that comment ) .
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

i've used Donald Mackay for all my engineering and so far i have found him to be good all round. He is near the john hunter hospital.

I'd suggest you speak to one of them and find out what they require them to be happy, at the end of the day mine or someone elses experience means squat if they wont sign off on it!
Regards,

Sammy.

Bloke in Newys name ( besides Athol) is Bob Mackay.
Like all people / departments we have to deal with he will not give you any grief if you have either spoke to him before you have started your build / conversion or......
Have a thorough understanding of what is required to comply with the relevant acts and regs these blokes have to refer to whan assessing your handiwork.
Dont turn up with some shitbox half baked modification and then get the poops when you get told things arent quite right.

I have been told by a few people that Bob Mackay isnt doing this type of work nowadays. Might pay to check on the RTA site and see if he is still listed as an approved mechanical engineer.???

Or.. phone him??
