Where do I connect the heater pipes and the temp sender? I can see two spots, one on the head and one on the water pump. But I will need three holes won't I? (btw its a grey motor). Can I put in a 't' or will there not be sufficient flow with the heater pipes off for the temp sender to work?
any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Greg

Looks like the head on your car is off an FE or FC Greg. These heads only had one outlet for a temp switch. FE/FC's had one outlet in the water pump and another outlet from the thermostat housing. These two outlets went to the heater. FB/Ek heads had two outlets and one in the water pump and didn't have the outlet in the thermo housing. Best thing is to get an FE/ FC thermo housing and run this outlet to the heater.
Hope this makes sense.

later grey heads came with 2 points on the head one for the heater one for the temp sensor I dont believe using a T would be sufficent as as you said with the heater off you wont have flow sorry but im too pised to offer a solution

Thanks guys, makes sense to me. My head was cracked and I bought this one fully reconditioned, without realising the difference.
Now, whats the solution? just in case I can't find a fc thermostat housing.
Thanks

I don't think you will have any trouble picking up an FC housing Greg
