Can anyone tell me if the front drum brake cylinders on an EH are the same diameter as the EK ??

Thanx Nick

Not 100% sure but I have heard that the whole brake assembly can be adapted and is a much better brake setup.
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

The brake cylinders are different (front and rear). The master cylinder is the same. If you want to change to the EH set up, you will have to change both front and rear cylinders to keep the braking ratio constant. Not sure if the profile on the rear of the brake cylinders is the same – diameter and mounting bolt set up.

Thanx guys
The local parts store have listing for rear FB-EH rear but only EH listing for front so one would assume if rears are the same (mounting, dia etc) the fronts would also be same otherwise the braking ratio would incorrect ??.
They need to order the fronts for me so don't want to end up with something I cant use.

SACK YOUR LOCAL PARTS STORE  (You can under the new IR Laws)

According to the Rare Spares catalog –

Product Code: 7412731
CYLINDER WHEEL BRAKE FB EK REAR EITHER SIDE
Price inc GST($AUD) : $94.88 EA

Product Code: 7420771
Description: CYLINDER WHEEL BRAKE REAR WITH DRMS EJ EH HD HR LC
Price inc GST($AUD) : $23.18 EACH

Interesting price variation if they are the same item.

The catalog also lists different part numbers for the brake hose – could be different length or thread.

AND

According to my brake parts supplier, FB standard diameter rubber cups for rear cylinders are 1 and 1/16”, EH on the other hand are only 13/16”.

See if anyone has upgraded to a HR front end - a spare set of cylinders might be available.

If need be you can hone them out and fit oversized rubbers in them. The rubbers come in 1/16" increments, If I remember correctly I fitted 1¼” in mine after honing.
