that REALLY depends on tyre ratio and size, from there you can work out how you drive the car and what diff ratio will work best for you
2.78 slow off the mark but low revs on highway through to 3.89 launch great off the mark and rev out at 50mph?

I've got 3.36 with 185/75/14 and its not bad but I plan on fitting a t700 behind a 186.

i agree 3.08 is the best all rounder .....
having said that i too have a T700 behind a 202 and i have a 3.45 diff in it and it revs at about 2200rpm at 100kms whereas when i had the 5 speed with a 3.08 it used to rev at 2500rpm at 100kms ....
Regards,
Sammy.

3.36 or 3.08 would be best could try 2.78 with a 179 but I don't think you'd be happy with it's pickup and wide gearbox ratios that a 3 speed box has.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

if most of the driving will be around city i'de say 3.08 (this way still ok on open road) maybe 3.36 if lots of highway 2.78
but lots of if's but's and maybe's, like engine condition and mods if any tyre size as mentioned and ratios in the gearbox

Strange thing is my EH has 3.55 diff so I sort of know what its going to be like !
Someone on here had 3.08 with Grey motor Hydramatic , it would go back to 2nd gear on hills

Hi guys, useful info in the comments. I'm wanting to put a 3.08 behind my 202 and trimatic in an EK sedan. Now sorry for my ignorance but what's the best way to go about doing this?
Can you get 3.08 centres that go into existing otriginal EK diff housing or should I look at getting a drum to drum 3.08 out of a HR - which I've heard bolt straight in to the EK? or is this info incorrect?
Any help or clarity would be ver much appreciated.
Cheers
Stu
