Reddoe EJ wagon

Post by reddo »

Hi All
Just an update on the EJ wagon i bought from Jamie Croker in Canberra a few weeks back
Been messin with it ..

Ok .. so.. whats been doin...
Since i have dragged the old clunker home we have put in
New Water pump
New thermostat housing
New Thermostat
New fan belt
New Petrol pump
New X 4 wheel cylinders
New X 3 brake hoses
New master cylinder
2 New.Old.Stock front brake drums
Pressure test and power flush then fit the 179 radiator outta the EH to EJ.. you have to cut the drivers side apron and use the EH top radiator support panel

Reconditioned BVOX-01 carb ( $180) :P

Spent all day messing with the stoppers with a mate who is a brake mechanic . The thing pulls up great now .. abeit a few funny grinds and scrapes until things bed in .
The hand brake even works.. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Off tomorrow to a tyre service that is aopen sundays here in Newy.. ( 7 day adventists or something) to buy a couple more 205 /65/ 14s for the torana mags
Maybe that will save me fitting the 3:55 diff out of the EH arse end .

:D
Thanks for sorting the photos Blacky.
Still dont know why they dont come straight up when i transfer them from photobucket like they do on other forums.

Its a 10ft car.... .. looks good from 10 feet away. Roof needs a respray. Tailgate has a heap of small dings in it. Both front and back valence panels ( stone trays) are battered about . bog in left rear gaurd cracking up. Rust coming through bottom of front left gaurd...... .... apart from that , the good parts outweigh the bad.

Just gunna do enough to get it registered as an everyday driver and then keep chipping away at the rot a bit at a time.

No law against advertising a car.
It is not called selling until it is sold.
Advertised at a starting price of about $300 less than what it owes me at this point.
So... obviuosly not selling for personal gain.

As a matter of courtesy i Have offered it via pms to a few people on the forum who expresssed interest in it when i bought it. Its actually a better deal now than it was when Jamie Croker had it for sale..it came with no carb, no fuel pump. all 4 brakes locked on, a radiator that fell to bits when removed, a leaky water pump and no battery......all have been replaced .

None of the forum memebers are in a position to purchase it.

Auction finishes in a few days... happy bidding and good luck. some person is going to get a good car.

Thats Ok Gazrat..
I am a member of a few forums around the traps.. I dont let what anyone else has to say, influence my opinion or the way i go about doing things .

I aint no ebay expert but i do see a lot of stuff get "shifted" there and in "parts for sale".. "cars for sale' by members on this and other forums...
I am aware of a few deals where people have made massive profits from those dealings .....and........I have never said boo.

With all this going on in the background i find it amusing that i get such an honorable mention from one particular member here. If he was to open his eyes to some of the aforementioned he would be a busy man typing up his "findings"

Meanwhile....
If i am guilty of anything .. its sharing storys of what i have dragged home with others on the forums. I wont be retiring to the shadowy areas here on this forum, and you will definitely see me posting pixs of cars that come into my possession.. wether they are "keepers" as old mate describes them is entirely my business .

I enjoy the banter here.. and the dealings ... keep em coming.. i am watching.

Yup..
It gets busyier there on a sunday than it does on a week day.
Everybody thinks they will slip in there on a quiet sunday morning and get a couple of tyres bunged on.
I got there 10 mins before they opened and i wa 9th in line.Left the tyres with em and came back 4 hours later to collet them !!!!

Only thing they cant get done there on a sunday is a blue slip. The inspector says he wont work sunday..... because it is against HIS religion. ... more like he doesnt mind a drink on a saturday night and cant get his head off the pillow sunday morning to front up for work.
