righto.. plenty of questions coming... first one being.. i recently read a post on here regarding process for rebuild... where to start etc.. also had a heap of tips and tricks.. does anyone know the post i'm on about ?

hmm.........IMHO if its running, drop it on its guts, throw a set of whitewalls on it and a mexican blanket on the front seat and you are done. Ha.

Hi and welcome to restoration heaven.I am into a complete rebuild down to the last nut and bolt and the most important piece you should have before you start are about 200 clip lock bags and two permanent markers.trust me you will use them.oh yeah and plenty of pictures.

I second that Tony!!
I use 3 diffent sized bags. Packed them in Left guard bolts, grille bolts, dash, glovebox etc etc..... now that we have done our first prefit and reassembly I am sooooo glad I did that :roll: .

Good luck with the build mate. :D

Oh And half that shit (rusty coloured paint) will buff out on a rag with dampened cornflour-spit on rag. Lookin good

go the bag and after you have marked them put them in a few boxes front/car middle/car rear/car what ever you are going to have a lot of them if you go the full rip'n strip and wellcome to the forum

ahh ekdave... well spotted... took the easy option as it was close to home...
who is the best around geelong to get sandblasting / soda blasting / dipping done..

hey there Darren from geelong soda blasting he is just around the corner from triple J . ps darren is a holden fan also

or for thicker items like subframe flemmings sand blasting out in molap

A soda blaster here where I live showed me recently some work he had done.

Soda blasting is brilliant for safe paint removal but struggles somewhat when it comes to the rusty areas.

He then uses a heavier blasting medium on the rusted areas to bring the rust out that the soda blast couldn't remove.

He said that after soda blasting the car doesn't have to be quickly primed to prevent rust starting on the bare metal as the fine film of soda left on the body acts as a temporary rust preventative via its chemical makeup.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
