Another silly question guys if i get a car thats from interstate and go to register it here do i need to go thru regency or do they just do an id check?

When I got my FC Wagon from Vic, it was just an ID check, I was shtiting bricks thinking of all the stuff they could defect but they didn't.
Get a VSR check before purchase though, my FE got impounded for weeks in a filthy compound in Wingfield because the motor that was in it was reported stolen 16 years earlier

p.s was that done at regency or ya local cop shop? was the vehicle modified at all?
