seat belts
hi,
i'm wondering what seatbelts people use in their cars? i'm not wanting retractable, but i want new belts not second hand.
i'm running bench seats front and back.
i would like red belts but it's not a nessecity.
any help would be great, thanks

Im running retractable's but I'd much prefer the ones that lye on the bench seat.
Just make sure if your car is in the weeds that the seat belt bolts dont connect with the tailshaft.
Took me a week of playing with my brakes to realize that it was not the problem and I had a nice shiny ring around the tailshaft from all the scraping noises!

Matches , there are 2 easy ways to get the seat belts you want - Stampy's seat belts are based in Victoria and advertize in Cruzin magazine or Google him , or go to Auto 1 or wherever and order Klippan brand generic belts - they will make them up in different colours but you will wait a while for them.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Seatbelts
AustMod, I've got those Klippan fixed over shoulder generic seatbelts for driver and passanger only.
Bases are fixed through the floor with large backing plates and through the B pillar for the shoulder bit. they were installed by previous owner and while i hate the look of the dome headed bolt through the pillar and think it'd be much nicer with just lap belts, i 've gotten used to it now and appreciate having propoer seatbelt that will stop me smashing through the steel dash in an accident.
i can post a few pics of how they're fixed if you want

thanks austmod, i'll give them a ring.
arty: i would've liked to just have lap seat belts but my engineer told me that with the engine mod and the front end i have to have lapsash
i don't like the look of the bolt through the B pillar either but i'm not sure if there are plates you can get to go inside the b pillar so you don't have to go right through to the outside, i've seen these plates from wesco performance but i'm not sure if they're australian legal

That custom plate link you posted link to looks like a great idea, i'm sure you could get a decent looking half inch cover plate for the hole. there is no way you'd pull that plate through the pillar in an accident. i reckon you'd pull the whole pillar in before that plate pulled out. Mine is only a dome head bolt through the pillar, i don't think its even high tensile bolt. it'd pull through way before the plate that you showed would. I'd show your engineer that and ask if its suitable, ...it 'd look heaps better than the bolt through the pillar, I think the biggest problem they may have is the half inch hole in a structural member.
