HR Front End

Post by stinky »

If an HR Front end is setup for an FC, will it bolt into an FB/EK? If not, what has to be done to make it fit?

Gday Stinky
I would imagine you would have to change the outrigger to FB/EK.
And yes, I have got one for you if you need it.

Thanks Thommo, I was asking because in a tech article on modding a front end for an FE/FC it suggests that EJ/EH outriggers are the best to use, so naturally I wondered if it would be different for FBEK.

Wierd, I always thought you cut off the original outrigger and welded it onto the HR front...

EJ/EH outrigger might be just the thing for a FE/FC's, Dont know myself.
But FB/EK outriggers are just the thing for a FB/EK's

as far as i know they're all the same bar FE/FC/FB/EK/EJ have the holes for the front grey engine mounts, i do know red engine mounts for EJ/EH on a HR front don't quite suit FE/FC/FB/EK
i've used HR fronts out of FE/FC's and EJ/EH's in EK's with no mods

To the best of my knowledge, the FE FC FB EK EJ EH Outriggers are all the same and interchangable between the models, so yes it will fit.

i believe the difference in the older out riggers is that they arn't as high where they attach to the crossmember so if you put them onto a hr front end you'd have to step it down whereas the ej/eh ones are the right height and transfer over properly.

but as far as a the original post, if its in an FC now it should go straight into the FB/EK .....
Regards,

Sammy.
