EK Wagon parts or restore ?

Got up this morning and did a quick ebay search. Found a wagon just outside Brisbane and gave the guy a call.Picked it up for under $250.

It's not perfect

Needs a little TLC

But it had all the parts I needed to complete my current car.
Will post some better photo's when I pick it up next week.

Had a laugh when i first saw it on ebay, but im sure you will get $250 dollars worth out of it. I bought a sedan for $250 from a scap metal yard, stripped the car on site and left the shell. You got to get the parts when you can these days.

Ben, that was what I thought, it's a poor and pitiful unit, but for some parts it's OK. Not a lot I might add, but some.

Mez, I wasn't after the roof, I'll see what condition it's in and will let you know after I have finished.

J I do agree, to the extent that if there is enough car left to restore. It's been siting on the ground for 10 years +

You have to get parts from somewhere, and this one would need a lot to get it going again. I'm thinking it's less than half a car at the moment.

But I'll reassess it once I get a chance to go over it properly.

Unfortunatly some have to go to keep the rest going, I used one parts car and had to find 3 doors, 2 fenders and the tail gate plus nearly every rust repair panel available to get our wagon back on the road, which to some was probably a parts car to start with

you bugger ya beat me by $2.50,,,,took me half a bottle of rum to feel better,,, if the hydro is not needed mate id buy it of you with the drive plate and any other hydro bits linkages colum badge on boot,,,, dont chuck em ,,, pm me if you want to ,,,,not sure if you had a hydro so let me know

Karsten, You would have needed to go a lot higher to have won it. Mind you I only just got my bid in on time. After I rang him my computer crashed and when I finally got back on and put a bid in it only had 11sec left. Had to use Firefox as Internet Explorer died completely. Re Auto - pm sent.

If you sense vultures are attacking this old girl, then it appears that she is probably already dead.........

Vultures are attracted to death or impending death.

However lets get her checked by a doctor and see if she can be bought back to life, or if she is permanently fatal. If fatal, then she can become the way nature intended, food for the vultures (and part of the cycle of life).

Please lets all say your prayers, but at this stage I don't hold a lot of hope for recovery, however we will try. PS - flowers and cards would be appreciated.

Have picked up the car today, and although I didn't really get a chance to look it over to closely, I'm sorry to report - It's Dead. Past away many years ago, just nobody burried it

. Had to take off the bits that would have fallen off on the journey home, back window, etc. Wire and wood holding the back end together, no studs on front wheel so needs to be dragged around.

Left home at 11am, got back at 5pm. Usual issues, had to get brake lights for the trailer (bulbs blown), got lost on way out, had to refuel twice (didn't fill it up enough the first time, went the long way on the way back. Car ran hot going up hills and brakes ran hot going downhills. Love the smell of burning rubber, brakes and transmissions

Long drive towing a big car trailer, and then a big car trailer and a large dead body. Also love the challenge of keeping it in one lane. It fits, but only just.... Loaded it onto the trailer with a bobcat

. Now can't get it off, still sitting on the trailer, but it was to dark, so abandoned for the night. Putting it into a paddock but ropes kept breaking, chain snapped (to small) and/or wheel spinning on long grass.

Job for tomorrow, find big chain and 4WD with towbar, so I can it onto the ground and return the trailer to it's owner. All up a very enjoyable and fun day, NOT.....

Will add some photo's when I get a chance.

PS. Note to myself, NEVER do this again.........

Hey Finny,

I need the bits of the rear wheel arch to sill.. that bit thats like an L shape. Mine are rotted out and they stupidly enough don't make replacement panels for that section as far as i'm aware.

Let me know if you can do that for me mate.
