bloody coil

Post by ben »

have had a couple blockages from crap in the fuel tank (which i have flushed and flushed) , the quick fix is to blow the fuel line back from the fuel pump. anyway today was d-day to fix the problem. flush tank, new filters clean pump ..... car no start f*&^. maybe dirt in carby..clean carby
starts but runs like shit. reclean carby still runs like shit. anyway 4-5hours of same as above and even ringing carby exchange, which were fortunatly closed saturday arfo, started looking at dizzy/coil. Its a elec commo dizzy with new cap/button and coil all done about 3 weeks work. there was a spark but not real stong, drag out the old points dizzy/coil wack em in starts first pop no worries. I dont really no what the problem was, but the new coil was cracked around the lead terminal. I had the coil mounted on engine as per orig but im wondering if its thick bracket has aloud it to overheat?
Its funny how you chase one problem only with another turning up at the same time throwing you of the scent, needless to say a couple of coldies have carmed me down a bit after a f*&^ of a day
