Wagon tailgate

Post by EK DAZ »

Hi all, has anyone had experience with fitting the tail gate handle ferrule on wagon tailgates. Looks like the back needs peeing over inside the tailgate, but I don't want to flatten the shiny side by hitting it too hard when using a backing dolly. Regards Daz.

Without peening, make it a friction fit in the panel and loose on the T handle. Vans have the same handle, with no access for peening, so I think not on wagons either. I have robbed a couple from wagons over the years and seem to remember them coming out on the handle.

My ferrule comes out on the handle. I'm thinking about a (light) smear of stickyflex around the tailgate, then push the ferrule home.

Cheers,
