Bunning's BBQ in March
We were able to score a BBQ at Bunning's at Mile End. This is one of the major Bunnings stores in Adelaide, with a massive amount of people on a Saturday.
We have been told to have 85 to 90 kg of sausages and 30 kg of onions to cater for the hunger shoppers. At the meeting with Bunnings, they advise the correct way to load the bread with the onions first then the sausage.
The club will use some of the profit to subsidise club members attending the Nationals in Mudgee this year, so hope to have a good turnout.

I’m going to be over at Pondalowie Bay volunteering on a school camp. Sorry I won’t be there and hope it goes well.

Good one Roger. I’ve done a couple of those for the kids’ sporting clubs many years ago and we raised almost $3000 over one of the weekends. Cool drink sold well too.
Hopefully you’ll get enough volunteers to ease the load. Good luck with it.
Interesting about the “how to load a bun” lesson. I believe that came about after a customer got injured in a store after slipping on a bit of onion.
Cheers,
John

Re: Bunning's BBQ in March
John, as you will know from doing the Bunnings BBQ, there is formula that Bunnings have that works well.
The coordinator did keep saying, make it fun days and if any got off the track just see the day manager.
Thanks Steve for you putting up your hand. I will be there all day but do expect to spend time in the Tool shop because I'm sure there must be something in there that I need.
Cheers

If you are near Bunning's on Saturday 16th March, please drop and say hi after buying a sanger or two.
All the better if you in the FB or EK as we have a number of spots reserved right out the front.

Re: Bunning's BBQ in March
Thanks to all the members who helped out on the day.
Unfortunately we could not get the car display set up as Bunning's needed the space for clearance stock.
The day started off slowly but we ended up cooked around 85 kg of sausages.
Great fund raiser with some of this going towards the members attending the Nationals and for our weekend away at Meningie.
