Hi All,
I'm struggling to find a definitive answer on the net and all the workshop manuals for each Series use the same generic picture but can some one identify which main bearing caps are the early type and which are the later type?
Any info appreciated

Its gotta be bigger the later,
Traditionally the evolution of any engine back in the day got stronger and bigger.
Anyone can prove me wrong though !!!!!

I'm now pretty certain the top ones are the later model ones which does go with your theory Greg
