Door and Window regulator handles.

Post by oldnek »

G'day All.

Proberley this same ? has been asked before, But are the black pieces on the handles on the window regulators fixed or are they supposed to spin (black piece on the chrome) Mine are all tight and I have seen lots of others that do not turn also, but at the Car show at Kembla Grange I noticed some did spin quite freely, Also does the inner door handle position sit level (horizontal)or is it projected upward to the 2 o'clock position.

Now while I'm at it, does the boot rubber have a slight feathered flap that projects to the inside of the boot, or should the seal be a square section in profile. The reason I'm asking is that my seal is a Feather type and when you close the bootlid the feathered edge of the seal actually forces it's way out on the bottom edge of the boot, Hense doesn't seal and looks crap.

Hmm, Interesting!

I haven't paid that much attention to the winder knobs (must check) Understand though these handles are 100% Chevrolet and were used in many model Holden's. Maybe there was a change in design at some stage with the release of the knob?

The door handles are flat and level in early Holden's and that would be pointing at 9 O'Clock on a clock face open end towards the dash board.

they are all supposed to spin. 8) 8)

those that dont spin are corroded on the spindle - if you force them then they will rotate. :)
