Hey, was hoping someone might have the tool to remove the harmonic balancer on my FB's 138. I am replacing the dreaded fibre cam gear and fixing a couple of oil leaks at the same time. I was thinking that if could borrow one I would use it as a template for a machine shop to make one for me and use that one on my car not the borrowed one. Or if anyone had one they would sell would even be better. Obviously I will be paying postage both ways and take great care of it. I have read that they are common on eBay, but can't find any at the moment and I want to do the work ASAP. Thanks for any help and I am in Melton, Victoria.
P.S. - it us the original harmonic balancer for the grey.
Balancer tool
Re: Balancer tool
I have one home made I'll find it and you can borrow it to copy or just use. I am in Hoppers.
Re: Balancer tool
G'day mpeck,
I've got a Coxhead 1603 (same as the Litchfield E1103 or GMH 6A1) grey motor harmonic balancer remover that you are welcome to borrow. It's in Sydney. I've also got it's mate, a Coxhead 1604 (same as the Litchfield E1104 or GMH 6A2) grey motor harmonic balancer installer. The E1604 is a spare - yours for $25 plus whatever the postage is, or welcome to borrow it too.
If you want to built your own, some dimensions are below. Other than the 1 1/8" thread (which bolts into the harmonic balancer), the rest of the dimensions can be changed readily:

(stop laughing at my poor drawing... it's been a quarter of a century since I last saw a drawing board and tee-square. My tech drawing teacher is probably cursing me know).
Cheers,
Harv
