is a ek boot lid the same as a fc

hi guys
last week someone told be that a fc holden boot lid is the same as a ek boot lid, only the badge holes are in a different location is this true. today I purchased a boot lid today thinking that it was for a ek but and when I got it home i found a sitcker on it saying it was a FC boot lid. it looks the same to my rust ek boots lid. can anyone shed some light of the difference, is between the ek and FC is so I can work out if I brought the wrong one.

My FB has an FE Boot Lid. There were holes along the bottom from the original stainless trim. It fits just fine.
