Calling all you stereo heads ....

Post by Blacky »

I am fitting a 10" Sub doofer in my Monaro - the first sub I have ever owned. I have a second hand amplifier which has no wiring diagram , can anyone give me some clues ? The sub is a Response AA-0434 , I have the power cables sorted out but the speaker connections have me stumped. The speaker is 4 Ohm and the amp has 4 outlets labelled L+ , L- , R+ , and R-

Any clues ????
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

It's been too long, but google bridging an amp. Don't try it till you can confirm it, but I think you can hook up the l+ and r-...

Does the amp have a 'bridge' switch?

Have a read here: http://www.bcae1.com/bridging.htm

I would have a go with the left positive and right negative to the sub.

I have a spare sub amp which I was given last week which you can use if you want it if this gets too hard.

None of my amps had a bridge switch and I ran the one driving the sub bridged. Mind you it's been fifteen years since I played around with any of that stuff.....

Left + right - is correct, make sure you switch the filter to low pass or your sub will play full range and not just bass as it is made to do.
I work in the car audio industry so any one looking for help I am here!
