EJ's are a walk in the park compared to an FB-EK front screen last one I did with 2 of us took almost 2 hours

No it was a Rare Spares rubber so it didn't fit well at all. we had it out and in 6 times, then changed the rubber with one from Betta rubber and went in with one go

Tim is there really that much difference in screen rubbers .........I was gunna say just rubbers but thought I better clarify .. .......I gotta fit my screen soon and was interested in what you have to say ...........PM if you feel uncomfortable with your answer ..................Fingers

Yes there is in my opinion. The Rare Spares ones are a little random (batches seem to change over years) whereas the Betta Rubbers one seems to fit OK for the 2-3 using theirs that I have done.
Before the Nats Windscreen O'Briens had Bretts Black FB for 2 days to fit front and rear screens with Rares Rubbers, when it came home ot was sitting high and leaked. Back for another day or two and they eventually got it right.
A further complexity is the type of windscreen. A laminated screen often requires some removal of excess in certain areas. I haven't tackled a laminated screen myself, best to leave it to an expert to break it.
Others may have differing experiences? Rare Spares have a fair way to go with a number of their rubbers. Bill did a great job to finally get the standard rear screen rubbers sorted. He has trial fitted a few of the batch and all seems AOK. Given that there are no moulds to insert into the rubber I am fairly confident that they will be pretty good to go in.
