EJ/EH STEERING WHEEL TO EK COLUMN ?

Post by Mai Ki-Ki »

Just wondering.....

...does the Eh/EJ style wheel fit the EK column..seem to recall even the HR wheel does so might just have to sort out the horn...?

...and does anyone have a spare EJ/EH Wheel? :P

the spline is the same but it won't match up to the colum not sure if you can even put it on, much better if you change the whole colum

I'm bored with it...the eh wheels with a bullet in the center and repainted will look pretty nice....

...hell i'm considering redoing the whole car atm....hmmm.

Cheers!

Sorry to hijack Maiki, but Luke we need more pics!!!!!!

That wheel will lend itself to a nice mild custom soooo easily, no wonder Maiki wants one!

Excellent, that's what I want to see....so your saying the wheel mounts up ok on stock spline etc, but doesn't match the EK column size wise? (and horn would have to be modified...? )

Hmm...either a dark colour from the top of the fenders up or seaweed flames all over...can't decide....!

And i agree with you Brett, the wheel wopuld give a nice mild custom feel, andyhow i've looked at the stock Ek wheel (+ bullet) for nigh on 11 years now....bored.

Cheers

Looks like an EJ/EH Auto column Maiki, which would explain the nice fit

Patience grasshopper, patience. Thats an old picture, I'm happy to say those floor mats arent there anymore, or that CD player!

Maiki, I dunno what column it is to be honest but yeah like brett, I'm assuming EJ/EH! This EK has HR front/rear end, 202 motor, EJ/EH steering and on and on. . .

Paint ideas sound pretty cool though. With flames I reckon you gotta be real subtle or go nuts and cover the car-

steerin wheels

Post by NoMAD »

Time to bring up an old topic - how did anybody go with this?

from what i gather -

The EJ/H Wheel will match the FB/EK Spline.

The steering wheel would rub however on the FB/EK plastic column shroud. so you would need to make a custom cover?

Can you use the FB/EK Indicator assembly?

basically i also want to use the EJ/H Steering wheel as i have access to one - and have no wheel at the moment!

but all i want to use is the wheel and horn - everthing else from the FB

Cheers

I also need an answer to this one, as there is a woodrim EH/EJ
wheel up now on E-Bay. see my wanted ad.

Are any other holden wheels able to fit?
I'm only really asking about sports wheel mounting bosses,
but the same applies.

I want to retain my FB coloum.

thommo it should go on but may need some fiddling and the boss may need some mods to match up to the colum.

I've purchased an EH wheel, which should be on it's way, so I'll let everyone know how this goes over the Easter break when i'll get a chance to work on the old girl....
