VooDoo's EK

Post by VooDoo »

Hola all
So this post has been a long time coming, ive been lurking the forums for ages so i guess it's my turn!
I bought this EK from a chap in Wagga Wagga over a year ago, it was in amazing condition, virtually no rust, took it down to bare metal and repaired what few spots there were.

For most of the time ive had it ive just been getting the engine and mechanics of it together, going with..
202 straight six, 1 n' 3/4" Triple SU's, LJ XU1 Cam, Straight cut timing gears and High stall Torque converter (I think thats about it)

Just finished the paint, which is what these first photo's will show.. went with a gloss cream roof, and a deeeep dark purple in satin tone for the body, managed to get a shade that changes from virtually black to a purple depending on angle and lighting, which i reckon is a good feat for a straight Satin, wanted a blend between rat and show n' shine, figured i usually only see one or the other so i'd meet half way with a nice Kustom feel.

I've gotta get a few rubber/gasket kits still for the doors/windows, but they are the last puzzle pieces left, other than that all that's left is assembling it again.
Interior is MINT which im happy about, but not in the scheme i have in mind, so that will change eventually.
The end vision involves a few more bits and pieces, but so far it's dead on target for what i have in my minds eye.

Ok here ya go, apologies if any of it is a bit granulated, blame the IPhone (Blurred the background but thats it, no sneaky alterations)

Hi VooDoo.

Nice straight looking bus you have there. You did well to find one that was pretty much rust free

Welcome!

haha i KNEW the stock jock's wouldn't be pleased!
It's all good though, there's enough mint resto's bumping around so i'll let you boys cover that while i abuse mine

Mai, i'm gonna drop it on the front and keep it stock at the back for a mean drag lean, ultimately i want to have it on bags so i can change it up anytime, but thats a long way off.

Mmmm sweet 80's retro stance

Don't worry about us stock-jocks, we also get the urge to do something naughty to a car every now and then. Why just last week I put a non-original flasher-can on my FB (I even left it peeking out from under the bottom of the dash a little so everyone could see my cool mod) 8)

Haha yeah it's all good, Some people will make every square inch of their ride like it's straight outta the factory, and others will go absolutely wild, thats not news to anyone but what i'm saying is I respect every side to this game, and both restorers and customisers fuel each other in the end, without one another none of this would be worth sh*t all.
