My idea for the next version of the sedan...

Post by Sputzwagon »

I've been toying with a bit more work on the front of the car (got the idea from a 56 Chev) using two old bumpers front & back and cutting welding and making a one-piece and extra body to fill the gap on the corners....not to mention the arse end work I've had in mind for years!

Personally Scotty I dont like the front, stock style one piece bumper... Hell yes! But hey that's me...

plus what ever you do seems to turn out cool... So cut weld and customise away!

Well it's only a thought so far Nathan..it took me 32 years to finally doing the mustache mold custom bits  , so this might get thrown in the 'later' bin too! But I do like the idea slightly better than a 'roll pan' front end..I've never seen one on an FB/EK that I think suits it...yet.

hahaha, maybe in 30 years i'll like it... who knows, i know what you mean i have seen a couple of roll pans i i haven't minded but most just don't suit.. theres also a sketch of a chopped pano somewhere, cant remember where (you probably drew it  ) that had one i liked, i'll have to see if i can find it, not going the web grille anymore?

cheers

I dig the idea but somethings not quite right in the pic to me profile wise ,
The FC bumper ends are an awesome profile but the ek headlight is fatter so Im thinking a profiled up FC corner would look great if it matched the guard size - see how hard I make things :D .

Yeah I know where you're coming from Harko..like I said it's only in the idea stage at the 'mo (I personally would love a 2" chop on it as well..but funds say NO! :( ). It still needs to be mocked up with old bumpers (which I don't have yet)...so it's a long way off. As for the spiderweb grill, Nathan, I'm still going to make it...I've just been slack.

Yeah, Thommo..this is how long it's been on my mind..this was an artwork I sent (via FAX!!!) to Paul Kelly in 1999..same idea as this except I've gawn off the 2 door ..I like pile-ing in mates without having to tilt seats forward for entry.
