Hey Man, I'm going up the Sunny coast on the weekend to see how the townhouse has faired with the weather.
They say that it will fine up by then and the kids can finally enjoy their school holidays.
I remember this type of weather when I was a kid-Summer holidays, Get away somewhere and then get stuck and miss the first week of school.
If this is going to fill our dams and stop raining again for another ten years to leave us in drought, at least we know where to catch the water when it comes again!

Brisbane River has just burst its banks and people are running for it. Worst since 1974. Unbelievable.

I work in the CBD and we decided to shut up the shop and evacuate the staff at about lunch time. I'd watched the rive rising pretty damn quick over the course of 2 hours and wasn't interested in sticking around just to make a few more bucks for the company. Wanted to get everyone out so they had time to get home. As it was it took me 3 1/2 hours to get home even then. Will be interesting to see if the waters rise enough to flood our shop...apparently not, but predicted flood levels keep getting revised and hell, who knows.

Well, its 5am and the rain has stopped. Might be a dry drive to work this morning. havven't heard too much about whats happening but have seen footage of Ipswich CBD. I'm hoping to get the shop open and then go and pull out some cars from a mates back yard and pack up as much as we can.

Well its too late for my mates place. He's lost most of his cars and all the parts that he'd collected over thirty years.
The water is rising up his front stairs at a rate one step every 30 minutes and the peak is still a day away

Went around to Sunnytims this arvo he has got most of his cars out cant move two the other black EK and a two tone blue FB has put most stuff up high the water has not hit his yard but not too good for his neighbours flooding just over his back fence. It is better to not take the chance in a situation like this. He lives one block from the Brisbane river I feel that his place will be ok but my thoughts are with him high tide at 4 am tomorrow. Theo that is terrible news about Marty Burke
