Where to get wheel cylinders for EK

Post by john116 »

Does anyone know if these are available from say, Repco? Am looking specifically for the front LH one. If yes, anyone have a part number? If no, any suggestions as to where I can find one?

Thanks,
John

John, it would make it easier for us to help you if your profile (or at least location) was filled in. Or we had an approximate area in Oz to go by.

In Moorabbin Brakes Plus had a lot of odd rubber kits for reco-ing slave cylinders, but I haven't had to do that for a while so I don't know if they still do. Repco may and if they do they will most likely have to order them in. Which means any major auto chain should be able to get them.

Good Luck.

Sorry, I'm in Sydney, Ryde area. One more question - does anyone know if the EH front left wheel cylinder is the same as on the EK?

Wheel Cylinder

Post by Lucy Blue »

John,

the EK LH front cylinder assembly is part no 7400153 fits 48 to EK

the EH LH front cylinder assembly is part no 7420815 they are not compatable unless you change all the wheel cylinders to EH

EK have more shoe area 112 in compared to EH with 98in so EH have wheel cylinders of a larger diameter you put the two together that is EH cylinders in EK it will require some mods and it pulls up better.

I had mine done in my first EK [Lucy Blue] over 20 years ago by Ryde Brake and Clutch not in business now

It had a 138 grey with triple strombergs and a set of extractors I blew up that many diffs :o

John,
Give Burt Bros brake and clutch a ring. They are in the phone book and are located in Fairfield Sydney. If they cant help you nobody can. Ask for Troy and say Greg with the Studebaker sent ya! He will help you out.
Let me know how you go.
Regards Greg
