Suspension In Melbourne.
I’m looking at getting some quotes to have my wagons suspension re-done.
Can anyone suggest any good places round Melbourne? Cheers.

Devilrod: I am wanting to drop the car to a nice ride height. The car is running original coils, shocks and bushes. I have been advised I need the King Pins done and the way she wanders i figure it is the safest option to do the lot.
Im not sure if i should attempt changing out some of the bushes myself, or just get someone to do the whole job...Do you know if this is a complicated job?
Mudgroup: Thanks for the advice, Which Pedders did you go to?

Yep, it all sounds and looks hard, but if you buy a gregorys workshop manual no 67 and have a go you might be surprised at how easy it can be and the satisfaction that you've done it yourself and saved some dollars as wellDevilrod wrote:It's not too difficult, but my theory is if you can pull it apart you can get it back together!![]()

$900 at Pedders sounds like value for money there Mudgroup. Pretty reasonable price.
However,
Kingpin reconditioning does require special tools so you would probably have to outsource that part of the job.
Mudgroups price at pedders at $900 does sound like a reasonable price but it depends on what was done for that price and I guess that wouldn't include the kingpin front end being recoed.
The parts alone to fully reco a kingpin front end would have to be around the $600 mark.I'd guess with parts and labour cost for a full rebuilt kingpin front you would be looking around a $1000 at least?.
Lowered springs new approx $150 front and new heavy duty front shocks around $130.
Not sure of rear spring re-set costs as I always use lowering blocks which are approx $75 depending on what size blocks your require.Approx $130 for rear H/duty shocks or $329 for air shocks on rear which is what I use in conjunction with lowering blocks and works well for me.
There's some cost guesstimations from me.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
i would love to do this stuff my self.. and maybe could manage it.. it might take a little longer.. and i might skin every knuckle... but i just don't have the time.. self employed.. 2 kids under 3.... and any spare time i have.. i'd rather be on the road driving...
totally agree with fbmad re satisfaction...
and cost i gave didn't include replacement of pins in front end... add another $500-$800.... makes driving a little more enjoyable...... i know it did mine... but i still call her wanda
