Very nice Greg I love the simplicity of the interior and the buckets also are great going to be a very nice ride when you finish mate and looks like that is not far off and I wish I wasn't such a cheapskate and bought a Locarno shifter like yours.

I agree with keeping the interior uncluttered and love the look of the Lokar shifter.
I have a B&M Quick Silver for the ute but it looks too chunky. The Lokar is slim and simple.
Is this a cable or linkage setup ?
Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger,
The lokar shifter that I have used is gearbox mount and uses a rod and linkage set up. It also requires an electronic control box and sensor to illuminate the indicator panel.

Thanks Greg for the info.
Although the Lokar shifter's are on the expensive side, I think this is the way I will go.
Surprisingly both my wife and my girl friend like the your choice of interior colours.
Cheers,
Roger

Keep an eye on Ebay and Facebook marketplace, I bought a new Lokar shifter for $300 and an indicator kit from England for $140 delivered

Thanks Guys having a break from the car and not much happening at the moment, to busy with work and the cold annoys me !
Got a mirror from the US of A, it fits a 67 68 Camaro and is as close as I can find that fits the stalk.

Hey Greg,
Gotta love those big coupes. I remember watching Bathurst the year Moffatt & Bond had the 1 & 2 finish, what a great moment in history. Thought this article might be of interest for you.

Thanks Stephen,
I did see that car and price and really !!! I know it was rare but it was stuffed and will need lots of resto !
Iv'e been offered lots for my car as well and I just can't do it, it was my dads and he loved it to death. If I sold it I know it would hurt wondering where it would end up so it just sits in the garage like art, I look at every now and then and admire the bravery of the designers of the day, free and ready to stand by the shapes, colours and the dare to be different attitudes.
Today ????? I only just like the Mustang and Camaro and that's just ! Would I ever buy one ? No !

So Guys,
I've got the shits with this car !! Firstly I get my chrome back from a second professional and have been let down once again. So nearly 2 years and nearly $3000 out of pocket I give up. Although not a bad job its just not what I would have liked, I'm tempted to send the stuff to America to see what happens because apparently Die cast is impossible to chrome without flaws here in Australia !!!
Anyway another issue I have is a noisy torque convertor, brand new stall and it rattles. It could be harmonics in the flex plate but it sounds bad and I'm to scared to drive in case it lets go and floods the gearbox with metal, what do i do ?????
So I've got 3 more panels ready to paint and the weather is warming up so I will march forward and get this thing done, will worry about the convertor after its finished.

On the chrome on diecast issue, I had a pair of 55 Rambler taillights re-chromed by A Class here in Adelaide earlier this year.
They have worked out how to do this and the result was fantastic.
Check out their website aclassmetal.com.au.
There a section of Chrome Plate Zinc Die-cast
Cheers,
Roger
