New up-date...............
I've been playing around with a more conventional version of the original designs and removed the guard scallop.
Next I played with the colours and came up with something I like better than what I had before.
So in this version it still has a 2" chop top & rear 1/4 work with door handles removed, frenched rear rego plate, and custom rear bumper & bumperettes...................
Here's three coulor versions.......
#1..Magenta tinter (same colour used on the my old wagon...more a deep burgandy-ish colour..)
Image
#2..Jade Green...love the colour :D
Image
#3..It's present shade of Seaforth Green....
Image
....all these have pearl white in-fill....

Scotty , I reckon keeping under the tail light lens chrome might look better than painted....

Yeah, Harko..I've spent the last 15-20 odd years just doing at least a dozen different versions of bumper variations & have come back to what is almost the very original design I first drew in 1999!
For me the desired affect I'm after with the whole design for the arse end gets lost every time I try to add any chrome under the much lowered brake lights and outer rim.
In one brain storm I had the whole outer rim of the brake light was chromed, and to me it made it look more or less like a normal Special sedan.
You have to keep in mind that my car is a standard & has no chrome around the rear light pieces and that customizing bases itself on de-chroming.
That said, I do welcome all comments (but no pissing in pockets..please! ), this is a healthy thing & different peoples views can always come in useful no matter what I do in the long run.
Being creative with our cars is what make this forum interesting (as well as if put this up on the H.A.M.B. they'd shoot this design down as rubbish & not true to a custom before I had a chance to even give my perspective!). :wtf:

Loving the ideas you've got for this build, very cool 8) Also got to love someone who likes constructive feedback too

My main comment is that to me the paintjob has too much going on, and actually fights for attention with the awesome body mods. I think it would work better with a subtle 2 tone paintjob and let the body mods speak for themselves. You dont need wild paint because the bodymods by themselves are more than enough to make the car a standout on their own. And hiding Paul's work is almost criminal!

Loose the outer chrome then Scotty , it looks like an add on or afterthought.
I think all the colours work well so personal choice prevails

Do you have a rear view?
Yeah, Thommo..this is how long it's been on my mind..this was an artwork I sent (via FAX!!!) to Paul Kelly in 1999..same idea as this except I've gawn off the 2 door ..I like pile-ing in mates without having to tilt seats forward for entry.

...looks alot like the first 'Axemobile'... don't it?

'55/'56 Packard taillights would fit in nicely to get that affect..

Needs twin fishtail tips :P ,like it better with the lights in your new design than just the smoothed off fins

I used to think that way myself, Hewey. The only thing with artwork versions are they are an approximate render not the final look, but that said the REAL paint will be much more gentle on the eye that what you see in the artwork (it's like that so i can get an idea of where the lines will follow). Plus I love doing custom things in paint...
