Thanks Lulu and V8Ek4us

Sorry, haven't been on for a long time.
The old girl has taken a back seat for a little while.
Extremely busy at work etc, etc.........

I do have another parts car possibly arriving soon.
So when I'm back into it I may have some parts y'all may want to scavenge.

Hey people.

I can't believe I haven't posted for 6 months

As it said a few posts ago, the $$ haven't been kind, so the old girl got put to the back burner.
Hopefully I'm back into it now though.

Unfortunately that extra car didn't happen due to the above problem too :x

Went out to the garage yesterday to have a look around the beast and looked over what needs to be done.
I think I must have the 'bug' back again, because I woke early thinking about the car again (hasn't happened for a while)

I'm off to the garage again now............
So hopefully plenty more posts to come!

 Know the feeling well there EKSPCL    .You get an intense " I want to get into finishing it " way of thinking, do a fair bit, something else interupts your time , dollars dry up and before you know it has been 6 months since you last worked on it      ...... then you get stuck into it again and the cycle repeats etc

Not too interesting, but hey, I've done something

Stripped some paint yay  ...........

Fingers crossed I'll get some color this summer (on the car)

I need to ...
* weld up the extension on the front passenger door
* strip the bootlid, rear left quarter, 3 doors, passenger-side pillars and front guards
* undercoat and prep the entire thing (Lucky the old girl is pretty straight)

Not too much when it's written down

The first panel straight and ready for paint (apart from a rub back)

Hard to explain to someone, who hasn't done what we do, how good it feels when you finally get each panel perfect 8)

Stripped the two front guards and stone tray too.

Also picked this up tonight.....

I want to paint the grooves in the top of the rocker cover in satellite yellow (same as the body).
Can I use the same acrylic or will I have to get something else mixed up :?:

you could use acrylic but would be better off with enamel or 2pak

MMM shiney 8)

A mate of mine has told me to be not to put pinstriping enamel on the acrylic paint because it will react with the acrylic.

Is the pinstriping paint always an enamel :?:
If so why can all of these cars be done when most are probably acrylic :?:

all paints can react but it's usually the other way around can't put acrylic over enamel, enamel on acrylic is ok 99.9% of the time

and yor on a roll now nothing for 6 months and now 6 in 14 days  :D
