Well done - putting an engine in wearing a white shirt :)

You obviously work a lot cleaner than I do - white would not stay white for too long!!!

honestly mate i don't know how the hell that shirts still white  :?
i really don't work that clean (just look at the pics that show my shed   ) it did help that the engine had been rebuilt and cleaned before i put it in though.

dismantled the front end to fit the lowered springs (lovells superlows) one of the lower pivot bushes had lost its grease nipple so was bone dry and rusted into place :x
got it all off with help from plenty of inox
Image
now just waiting on the springs to turn up and save enough for new ball joints and bushes.
apart from that i mounted up the gauges for final fit before paint so any holes have paint sealing the edges.
Image
Image
not sure if i said before but i also smoothed off the heater lever as i'm going to run a more modern one incorperating aircon in the centre console.
and one from the driving perspective.

welded up the abomination of a floorshift hole that was in the ek.

Image
thought i'd show you guys a pic of the ek with the lovells superlows in the front (well drivers side anyway  ) waiting to save up enough money for the other ball joints and pivot pin seals :x

i got the car back on all 4 wheels today :D its got a bit of rake to it, and i haven't even put the hq stubs on it yet  8)
it doesn't look that low in the pics but the wheels that are on it are 2" diameter less than standard so when i get my 17's and tyres to put it back to original rolling diameter it should fill the guards nicely.

FRK i want one 8) only prob is i'de be copying mez and i don't like doing that :(
the stubs will bring it down a touch, i can't believe the rake mine has 1 coil and a small bit off the springs HK stubs and 175x65x14" tyres and i've prolly got a bit more than an 1" before i hit stock bump stops

i was actually very surprised how much bump stop clearance there is with the lovells superlows, they lower the car 45-65mm. i'll measure the bump stop clearance tomorrow an let you know what it is.
i was thinking the same about the roof chop/ two door, plus this is going to be my daily driver with the kidlet and tow vehicle for my bondwood van so i won't be going quite that low (i suppose if i had it that low there'd be no worries about sagging with the van on the back, there'll already be no suspension travel anyway   )
cheers, luke.

i measured the bump stop clearance, its got 48mm, and if i use the bump rubbers from fulcrum suspension that fbmad was talking about that'll give me a bit more :)
