Hi chap , good work there, Now with out trying to hijack the thread, in the pic I've re-posted  with those arrows pointing at those cross member bits that run down the car, are those the factory auto supports or are those part of a chassis kit, hope this makes sense.

Hey Blacky,
God damn nice shed mate!
The next house I move into is going to have a garage with enough height for a car hoist.
Im getting to old to lie on the floor. Did you sort your steering column out? Noticed the fuel tank as well what is it out of?
It is ashame that people do half assed jobs then sell knowing there is problems. Did the car you bought have some rear quarter damage as well? Thought I saw it on ebay in NSW.
Regards Greg EK283.

Yeah Greg , thats the one . Bought it in August last year , the fuel tank is out of a VN Commondore. Steering column is next on the list , have stripped it and cut it down , need to find some brass or acetal , etc , round bar and machine up a bush for the bottom of it.
The hoist makes life easy , cost me four cartons of midstrength ! When 100 series Landcruisers came out all the minesites had to get rid of their two post hoists because someone pulled the rear diff out of one and the whole shebang fell over forwards !

Hey Blacky

Your project is moving along nicely – noticed that the hoist is a latter addition – not pictured in your Toys topic. Great price

Love the flutes in the front panels.

Drove it out of the shed yesterday - hasnt gone for six months , hooked up the battery and she started first kick! Ya gotta love fuel injection !
Has gone to the autosparkys for an electrical tidy up , then is off to the exhaust place , then home for the final fiddly bits- the drop spindles are coming off as it sits too low now, sort out the park brake cables ,finish the column and steering wheel, replace a front suspension bush and its off for a rego inspection.

I'll have to come over some time soon for a bit of a look. It might inspire to pull my finger out and do some work on the FB.

Finally got back into it - have been inspired after seeing everyone else enjoying their cars last weekend while the missus and I missed out :(
Thought about the brake booster fitting problems and decided that instead of making the booster miss the bonnet hinge I would fit the booster and then make the hinge fit around the booster.
Step one was to drill the clearance hole for the booster shaft
Image
Step two was to drill the mounting holes and bolt the booster up to the firewall.
Image
Step three was to chop up the bonnet hinge to clear abovementioned booster.
Image
Step four was to make up a new back brace for the bonnet hinge - instead of the hinge mounting to the firewall it now mounts to the inner guard as per the front part of the hinge.
Image
This week I will make up an adaptor bracket to fit a Commodore master cylinder to the Gemini booster and hopefully we will have brakes again!

rust free EK.

Beersy , the guard flutes are welded in .
Yeprat , I have taken the drop spindles out for the time being , will get it licenced and refit them with another set of springs to get the ride height where I want it.
