Near canberra, teacher reakons if you drill out the remanents of the pin very very very carefully then use a bit of bar the same diameter and glue it in that might work?

If that doesnt work I'll take you up on them would need O and E for the bonnet and O E and H for the boot. Thabks billy

Hi all
Sorted thanks it was easy really what I did was find a pop rivet that stem was close to the pin size knock the pin out of the pop rivet had to drill it out a little and glued the pop rivet onto the little bit of the pin that was left drilled out the hole so it was a tight fit then knocked it into the hole you could use a little glue if you liked but mine was a tight fit and I figure that it only sits there that it wouldn't need it hope this makes sense and helps someone i am really surprised how simple it was but of course you have to have a bit of the pin left to glue to. Not bad for a printer I think anyway

Thanks billy that sounds a bit safer than drilling into it!

Would that work for the special on the guards and the 3 little slashes?

I can't see why it wouldn't but you do need to have a bit of pin and a goooooood glue. Best of LUCK you learn as you go.

Here ya go billy, there is are little 'stubs' I can glue the rivet onto!

The other side all came off because there is only one clip I just tapped the out!

At school now hahaha hate mondays....... history then religion.......

I didn't get picture but if there is enough tab left to glue to it should work it just positions the pop rivet.

I'll repost it this arvo, school internet is dodgy!

Can you remember what glue you used?

I managed to see photos there isn't much of the tabs left maybe you could grind area away around the pin with a dremel school must have one to give a little more depth.... Glue : i just used aredite but you must be able to get something better (now back to school work)

Schools got 4 1/2 hours left then 16 day holidays!

Building new shed ( 9m x 5 m, with 3 m roller door) for the old girl as Dad reakons I'm taking up his whole shed!!

Signed up for the vehicle restoration skills course at CIT which will teach me how to body work by making a hubcap out of flat mild steel and teach me how to weld.

Hopefully have shed slab finished by end of holidays.

So heres a mid-holidays update:

Passenger front guard stripped which just leaves the roof and undercarriage to be stripped! Been doing this almost day in day out since the 22nd of Feb this year but almost there









As a little side project I wire brushed the rust off the wheels and gave them an undercoat, coat of rattle can red then clear and they turned out awesome!

Still got the front ones to do but that's tomorrows job!









In my home made sandblasting/spray cabinet!

That's perseverance. At least you know there wont be any ripples in the steel from over zealous sandblasters.

Thanks Stewart! Heard too many horror story's with blasting and paint stripper was cheaper! Not looking forward to the roof though!!

Its weird - I can see a rusty pile of crap in a paddock or tip or wherever and inside 3 seconds I can picture it finished in whatever colour/style with whatever wheel/tyre combo, paint, trim , etc .... my missus thinks theres something wrong with me and she is probably right
