Mate,
Fuel line needs to be cleaned and braid renewed.Also clean the tank little bits of rubbish can block the fuel line especially where the fittings are connected. Exactly the same happened to me once nearly burnt the car with frustration :evil:

Cost of fuel has never been something I take into account when I fill. I primarily use BP (Ultimate in my EH and Pulp 95 in the EK) - a few dollars more each week is insignificant in the greater scheme of maintaining my cars.

But let's face it...a name on a bowser doesn't offer ironclad guarantees of quality. Everything in this world has variables.

Condensation in fuel tanks of old cars is not unheard of either. It's more than likely that this is how it found it's way to the carb. Filling up again last week (after we thought we'd solved the problem) might have just stirred up whatever was left in the tank and sent it through the lines again.

FB123 - we disassembled, checked and cleaned the fuel pump and it was as good as new.
