I am wondering what others have done running original heaters with the smaller diameter hose with later engines which run the larger hoses. I recall having issues in the past, trying to stretch the smaller hose over the larger fittings such as red motor water pump inlet, and also leaks at the heater when using the larger hoses.

I will probably run a tap at the cylinder head outlet, through the firewall to poor man or warmaride heater, then out to water heated inlet manifold, then to the water pump inlet. I think this will look tidier and I have the earlier lower thermo housing so can’t run the manifold from that. This will mean the manifold only gets coolant flow when the heater tap is turned on which i don’t see as an issue.

It seems to me that an adaptor at the firewall would be a tidy way of doing it if such a thing exists ore can be easily made up (Pirtek maybe).

Any advice greatly appreciated fellow enthusiasts.
Cheers

Bought a few of these (must nearly have shares in Pirtek by now  ).

Hi Harv,

Do you have a pic of how the two levers on dash connect up to the heater and the vent doors - I'm ok with the valve connection and the original firewall vent but what connects up to the vent doors on the heater box?

No, I never did get a photo of how the recirulatory heater linkages fit in-situ.

The heater tap rod is shown on Page 29 of the Guide, hanging off an old heater tap, with a dimensioned sketch on P30.

The air control rod is shown on Page 47 (albeit not a good photo).

Cheers,
Harv

All Good Harv - thanks - figured it out - the RH lever activates both - connects to the one in firewall as per standard then a short wire to connect that to the heater flap lever so they work in unison.

All set up ready to plumb up
