No, go the zinc anneal , galv is a bugger to weld and a bugger to get paint to stick to , just go to your local sheety shop and get an off cut the size you need .

No worries, thanks Rusty- I have a sheet of 1.5mm Zinc ordered, about 75 bucks

I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
